Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency at the rate of exchange at the time of transaction, our prices are only a and may vary.
We accept Visa and Mastercard. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are ready to be shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet. (this is a secure site using a 128-bit SSL encryption)
Shipping And Handling
Carriage is an extra cost and is calculated according to the weight and size of parcel. We normally send items in UK by Post Office Special Delivery service, (whilst we still have a post office nearby!) larger items by carrier (small items by post) For orders of more than one item prices in UK may change (normally less) if a higher amount is required we will contact you first. Prices of carriage are constantly changing and whilst we will send some items at less than carriage costs we can not undertake this in all cases.
Carriage costs to USA are increasing constantly and are subject to volumetric charges. We will advise if much different than estimated.
USA :- all Tax and import duty is the responsibility of the purchaser and is not included in the price of the product.
EEC and all other countries :- Please contact us to calculate the cost of shipping we will then add the cost on after receipt of order.
Delivery Schedule
We deliver your order as soon as possable. Often next day but subject to stock and how busy we are. If time is important please call us (Tuesdays to Saturdays) We will normally send your order to you within 7 days . International orders are generally received in under 14 days. If you wish it to be sent to a different address tahn teh card holders then do contact us - we often can.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is included. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero . For USA w charge 17.5 % or less for carriage, if more we will advise before sending.
Credit Card Security
All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee
All our barometers are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase against any defects in manufacture and materials.
The Guarantee is only valid providing that the barometer has not been tampered with or handled in any unorthodox manner.
In the event of any fault arising within 12 months of purchase, please contact us first before sending the barometer back.
On the rare occasion that your barometer may need repairing after the 12 month guarantee, or if accidental damage occurs, we offer repair service on many types of barometer. Again, please contact us first before sending anything as we have a policy of not accepting parcels unless pre booked with a return parcel number.

Returns Policy
Barometer World Ltd will accept the return of any item purchased from us within 7 days of delivery. The only cost to you, is the cost of returning the product to us less shipping and handling costs.
To make a return you will need to contact us prefferably by telephone. We have a parcel policy whereby we do not normally accept parcels unless pre booked with a Return number. - This is due to the fact that a few people over the years have sent us mercury items incorrectly packed and leaking as well as other types of repairs unnecessarily.

You will require a Returns Merchandise Authorization number that will need to be clearly written on the outside of your box near the address.
You may preffer to use an insured, trackable method to return the goods, as we can accept no responsible for lost or damaged items in the return journey. Items should be returned in the same box as sent to avoid damage - but please discuss with us if necessary.
Once we have received and checked the returns and providing they are in an acceptable condition we will authorize a refund, via your original payment method.
